Jake's 27th Birthday party!

Jake's 27th Birthday was actually was the 24th, but his family was still in Canada, so we waited until yesterday to really give him a good party! Since we are all about Harry Potter right now, ie...the last book and the 5th movie, we decided to have a Harry Potter party complete with Golden Snitch cakes, and Butterbeer! Jake even got a Nimbus 3000! :-) Then, after we party hardy-ed, we went to see the 5th movie, which was really good! We recommend it. Here are some pictures from the birthday bash!

Oh how I love Harry....

I finished the 7th Harry Potter book, Formally called "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", and I just need to say that ITS MY FAVORITE ONE!!!! Up until now, # 4 was my one and only, but this one has surpassed it. She did a wonderful job! I wont spoil any endings and such for those of you that are slow readers, or are retarded and havent gotten in on the goodness of Harry, but just wanted to give a shout out to J.K. and say that it was wonderful, and I'm sad it's over! But also glad to finally have the ending. I think I'll feel the same way about "LOST" when all is said and done. Anyways, There will be more book reviews to come as soon as "Eclipse" comes out...the third installment of the "Twilight" and "New Moon" books. And, if you havent read those either, run to your local bookstore because they are fantastic too! I was in Canada when I got the 7th book, and so it has a different cover as the American one...just incase you were wondering what it looks like, I'm posting some pics. I love Harry.

First Post and Canada Trip '07!

Well, I've been a Myspacer for over a year, and I was sure I was keeping in touch with all those who do this blogging sort of thing, until I realized that there were so many more of you that I wasnt in contact with because you were all hiding on blogspot! But, I've found you! :-) So with that, let me get right to it. We just got back from our annual trip to Wateron Lake in Alberta Canada. It's a solid Zobrist family tradition. We have driven almost every year, which I think is completely crazy, but last year I had a horrible driving experience, which I won't go into but just let me say there was a lot of throwing up, etc! Anyways, I insisted on flying this year or else the family would not be graced with my presence...haha. So, we flew, and it made the trip a lot easier, and less complicated until....The hike of doom! To make a long story short, we went on a family hike. The wimpier, and much saner ones of the family only went to lower Rowe Lake which is about 3 miles in. This rest continued on to Blackeston Peak, which is around 22 miles. Yeah...I know...! We waited all day for them after we finished our little jaunt, and by 9:30pm still had not returned! It wasn't until around 12:30am that they pulled up and we saw that Karly, Jake's youngest sister, was bleeding and apparently in really bad shape. On their way down from the peak, they were trailblazing their way through shale, and loose rocks, when a boulder reportedly around 50lbs, tumbled down and hit Karly in the head! She sheilded her head with her had, and it smashed her thumb to shreds! She walked about 4 more miles down like that! What a stud, eh? ( A little canadian slang:-)...). The end result was plastic surgery on her thumb, and probably about a million stitches, oh, and a fractured skull, that made blood puddle behind her eardrum, and so she has temporary hearing loss right now. It hasnt been pretty, but she's tough. Other than that...it was pretty relaxing and nice, and Lily loves to be with her cousins! Here are some pictures from our adventures, and until next time....!
