Feliz Navidad!! We're back from Cancun!

We just returned from our wonderful Zobrist family trip to Cancun, Mexico! We all had so much fun playing in the warm, beautiful, turqoise water, seeing the ancient temples of Chichen Itza, scubadiving in the Cenotes, (which are basically fresh water sink holes, and they are full of stalagmites and stalagtites and are "spectactular" as the Mexicans say it...,) going on a mini submarine ride, and just relaxing! The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed each others company! Here are some pictures from our adventure!....

Book Review #14: A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

I loved this book! It was heartbreaking the majority of the time, but was written so well, and was so thought-provoking even a week and half later, that it was hard not to love! This author really gave me a new prospective of the middle east, mostly Afghanistan, and an understanding of the people, and their way of life. I can't get over it, and I can't stop thinking about the characters. Thank you Tara Hatch for recommending it! It was truly amazing. But for those of you who decide to read it....beware! It's incredibly heart-wrenching and sad--but good! I promise! My rating...A!

Book Review#13: In Seach of Eden by: Linda Nichols

I was in need of a book and saw this one at Wal-Mart, knowing nothing about it, and grabbed it off the shelf! It turned out to be pretty good! You can tell the author is an devout Christian, because the whole book has Christian under tones. It basically reads like a movie. I wouldnt be surprised to see it in the theater someday. It was pretty much a sweet and happy book, with a few good twists! I would recommend it for a light and easy read! My rating....B+

I need to install a zipper on this child's mouth!

I debated whether or not to post these for the world to see, mostly because they're somewhat offensive, but I thought, what the heck! Lily has become a little chatter box, and repeats almost everything she hears but mostly at the most perfect, or imperfect time! :-) She learned the word Vagina. She says it all the time! We'll be at dinner and it's perfectly quiet, and she'll yell it at the top of her lungs! If you ask her a question, she'll answer with it, etc! It's funny, and shocking especially to those who haven't heard her say it, and we always have to supress our laughter so she won't continue! It's crystal clear, and there's no mistaking what she's saying! So there's that. Another embarrassing story: Jake, Lily and I were at Macaroni Grill and there we some big ladies sitting behind us--And I mean big, like 600 lbs! She kept looking back at them, and I could just see the wheels in her head spinning. Then, to our horror, she points and says, "Big, honkin' lady!!" Oh man, I almost fell off my chair, and I had to get up and leave in fear that my laughter would provoke her again! Everyday there is something new she says that has me cracking up!! I love her to pieces, but sometimes you just wish there was a mute button!!

Book Review #12: "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen

Well, I felt that this book was mediocre. It was interesting in the fact that it was about the circus and travelling with it in the early 1930's, but it lacked something. It was very graphic, and sometimes a little too graphic. There were parts that could have been cut out! I liked it, but I've read better. I'm not sure I would recommend this to anyone, mostly because I would be too embarrassed! My rating.....C+

50 sexiest men alive!

Let me clarify and say the 50 sexiest celebrity men alive....so our husband's, brothers, dad's, cousins, boyfriend's, don't feel so bad!:-) I was looking on Yahoo news yesterday and I saw that People magazine just put out their "sexiest men alive of 2007", and I must say that I agreed with maybe a 1/4 of them. So, I decided to make my own! They make their list about 100 or more, but I felt 50 was sufficient. Now, let me just say that I feel that sexy comes in a variety of packages. It doesn't just mean their face or their body is nice, and I'm definitely not excluding those, but I also think sexy comes in humor, attitude, and charisma! You may think, "what was Jamie thinking with some of these", but I don't care! :-) I made all of the names links in case you aren't sure who they are, so just click on the name to see a picture. Also, I would love some input on who you think is sexy! So....drum roll please...here they are in no particular order!!.....

Book Review #11: The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

Wow! This was an emotional marathon! It was very graphic and amazingly written! This was this author's first novel and it was a slam dunk! The story line and the author's life are very similar and I would almost have thought it was an autobiography if I hadn't known it wasn't. I totally recommend this book. It's amazing, and it really makes you feel so blessed and grateful for family, friends and this country we live in! My rating.....A!

Book Review #10: The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

Bravo! This was a nice, refreshing breath of air after that last horrid book! It was a really fun, and interesting mystery, that even when you think you have it figured out, you don't! You've gotta love that. I had never heard of this author, but I thought it looked interesting and thought what the heck! My instincts were correct! She was a way of describing things so detailed and so vividly that you can't believe you've only read 400 pages. It was seriously amazing. I just loved that I felt like I was smarter than the author and knew what was going on, but nope! She blew me out of the water! :-) My rating......A!!

Book Review #9: Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

Well, This hasn't happened in a while! This book gets a big BOO!! The premise seems promising, but turned out to be a dud, and so very disappointing!! It's only less than 300 pages, and I finished it in one day while I was at work...not because it was a page turner and I couldn't put it down, but because it didnt require any thought while reading. I felt like I was just watching a really boring movie! It had some interesting points, but the author left a million holes in her ideas. I had so many questions when I finished, and I doubt there will be a sequel. Oh well! My rating....D+

"I need my Jamie!!!"

....These are the famous words of my not even 2-year-old daughter last night! Do your kids call you by name?!? So here's what happened: Jake and I were putting Lily to bed last night, and the last few nights have been a struggle! I said "Lily, it's time to go to bed"...and she ran over to my door, shut it, and stood infront of it like that was gonna stop me from putting her in bed. So, I tucked her in, kissed her, after we had read at least 4 book of course.... the usual bedtime routine, and went back to my room...shutting both doors! She cried hysterically for a while, so Jake and I just turned up the volume on the tv a little louder. :-) I have a little baby tv monitor on my nightstand so I can see her in her crib. She was standing, crying....and then......"I thought, did I hear that right?"...."Jake, mute the tv....". Sure enough, clear as can be, " Jamie! Jamie! Jamie! Jamie! Get back here! Jamie! I'm stuck in here!!!!" Jake and I just looked at each other and giggled. After about 10 mins of her yelling that in a pretty methodical chant, Jake went to check on her and try to calm her down. I could see him singing, and faintly from the next room hear him singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider", which she did NOT like, and screamed at the top of her lungs until he stopped! He came back in to our room defeated, and said, "will you please go calm her down!? All she keeps saying is I need my Jamie!!" Awww! So I went in, rocked her in the rocking chair, and she was out in literally 2 mintues. What can I say!....She really needs her Jamie! ;-)

Soulja Boy+Sponge Bob

Ok, while I dont actually like this song, I was looking it up to show my family how Lily sings along with this song in the car when it comes on the radio, and found this on youtube! It's pretty funny!Ps.....You're gonna want to turn off the music before you play this!

More Lily....

I was instructed by my dad that I needed to post more pictures of Lily that he'd taken, since the other ones make her look like "trailer trash"! So, since I am such an obediant daughter, here are some more! :-)
