Book Review #5: Rebel Angels By: Libba Bray

This is the 2nd book in the "A great and terrible beauty" series. "Rebel Angels" is better than the first, but it's just one of those things where you first must read the first book to understand the second. I truly enjoyed this one! It flowed well, and kept me hanging! It definitely reminds me of "Harry Potter", but a girl version, and the love interests are exciting. The only problem I had was that I kind of saw through the plot and wasnt fooled by the twists....but then again, I felt the same way about "The DaVinci Code"! I pretty much guessed the whole thing, but I still liked it! Another aspect of this book that I thought was interesting was the way the author described the era that they lived in. You really get a a feel for the culture and their way of life. My rating: A!...A must read!

Book Review #4: A Great And Terrible Beauty By Libba Bray

So, After I finished Eclipse, I was feeling major withdrawals, and I was needing a new book to fall in love with, or a character I should say..( ahem,...Jacob Black) to love, and I saw this book on Amazon.com as a "People who have bought 'Eclipse' bought these"....so, I decided to get them and try 'em out. It is a triology, which I love, and I'm on the 2nd one right now, and the 3rd one comes out in December of this year. Anyways, Its a fun book! Its set in the late 1800's and its very victorian and beautiful! The story is adventurous and sort of "Harry Potter" meets "Secret Garden"-esque! It has a mysterious, paranormal, but also a slighty sarcastic plot! Sound interesting? It is! :-) My rating: B+! A good read

Book Review #3: Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Okay guys, This one is a hit!! But, Don't expect do run out and get it for two reasons--1, because it's sold out still and your best bet is Deseret Book), and 2, you first must read the preceeding two before this one, "Twilight" and "New Moon". Yes, it's a series. This book was fun, exciting, and the best part about it is the love story! Oh Edward! I must admit though, I'm majorly crushing on Jacob. Mmmmm! Stephenie Meyer has been related to Author J.K Rowling, though she doesnt thinks she's worthy of the comparison. So, those of you that love "Harry Potter" will probably be fans of this one, and even those of you that consider yourself "non-readers" will also love it! I promise. She graduated from BYU, and lives in Gilbert, Arizona....so if you live near her, would someone volunteer to knock on her door, and encourage her to write the 4th one that is supposed to come out Fall 2008, to maybe write a little faster!? I can't wait that long!!! I haven't yet heard of anyone that has had anything bad to say about it. I've been done with it for 2 days now, and still cant stop thinking about it, or stop calling my husband Edward! :-) My rating: A, a DEFINITE read!

Book Review #2: The Memory Keeper's Daughter By: Kim Edwards

I'm gonna be honest: I liked it. Other people I know weren't as thrilled with it, but I found the story line interesting, and intriguing! The middle of the book I could have done without, but truthfully I guess it had to be in there to give the whole picture! My rating: A good read....B- (Check out my book list on the side over there and click the links to find where to get it!)

Lake Powell

We just got back from Lake Powell...yet another yearly Zobrist family trip, But one that I love! We went with The Webb family, My sister Jessica and her husband, and Jake's family consisting this year of Rich and Angie, Karly, Katie and Brent and Kerry, with only two of her kids, Emma and Rex. We had a lot of fun, and came home from this trip with less severe injuries than that of Canada! Eric did hurt his right arm this time, with a beautiful purplish, blue bruise on the inside of his upper arm....but I'm pretty sure he'll live.
